THE
INITIAL IDEA |
Everything started during the active vacation in the summer camp of the NGO Our Children in Stari Grad (Old Town) on the island of Hvar in Croatia.
It was summer 2008.

was dry and hot |
Spending time in wonderful nature was something that all of the kids enjoyed. But at the same time there were a lot of dangerous wildfires along the Croatian Adriatic coast and in other Mediterranean countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy.
We were worried a bit because we realized that we actually didn't know much about this natural hazard. That was an inspiration and challenge for us and we used it to create the main idea for the whole new project.
Our teachers Mrs. Rozalija Baricevic and Miss. Gordana Grubelic presented their thoughts to the kids and very soon everyone showed interest for joining the project.
Pine woods in Stari Grad |
While we were having a great time on Hvar, wildfires occured along the Mediterranean coast.
We have decided to explore that natural phenomenon and learn more.
