I've heard this story from a tree whose branches had been burnt in a recent forest fire. I would like to share this story with you.
"I was proud of my large crown, showing it to everybody, but don't think that I was self-admiring. I was just a happy tree because the spring was so beautiful and everybody was cheerful.
While I was standing there with my friends, I heard someone coming. It was a man. He was holding some kind of a short stick in his hand and puffing a disgusting smoke out of his mouth. The stick was getting smaller and smaller and then he threw it in the grass and on my dry, last year's leaves.

When he disappeared out of my sight my leaves started to burn. The fire was very fast. In a minute my home was in flame. I was shocked and started to panic but I couldn't run away or move to avoid the fire. It caught me, too. My leaves were becoming dark and quickly vanished. It was like a hell! Fire everywhere around me! I felt a horrible pain in my roots, I was suffering so much. I was hurt badly. I didn't think of my branches or leaves. The part of my body that hurt most was my heart…

Most of us survived but it wasn't the same forest any more.
Now it's almost a year from that disaster and I've got my new branches and green leaves again. The forest is still recovering…“
This may be a happy ending but one thing is for sure: imprudent acts can destroy lives and destinies, so think before you do something silly.
